New Patients

Your Experience

Our hope is that your child will have an enjoyable and positive first visit to our office. We aspire to make your child feel comfortable and answer all questions that you and your child may have. We never want to instill fear in your child and therefore we don’t use words like “hurt,” “shot,” “needle,” “pull,” etc. We want your child to develop lifelong, positive attitude towards going to the dentist, that will extend and carry throughout their adulthood.

At the first appointment, oftentimes younger children may not want to sit in the dental chair. This is completely normal and we may examine your child in a lap based position so that your child feels safe. As your child gets older and more confident, they will hop up in the dental chair without any hesitation.

The first appointment will include a thorough comprehensive examination, prophylaxis (cleaning), necessary X-rays and a fluoride treatment. We will make a comprehensive treatment plan based on your child’s specific dental needs. We will discuss dietary guidelines, habit cessation techniques, and other dental health care related topics.

Please arrive 15 minutes early for the first visit to confirm paperwork and insurance. For your convenience, please fill out our online patient forms prior to your appointment. Thank you!

A parent or legal guardian must be present with a child under 18 years of age.

Parents Present for Treatment

We are proud of what we do and are happy to share it with you. We have an open door policy when it comes to parents at the dental office. While we create a bond with your child, we may ask you to be a silent observer so your child can focus on Dr. Laura and her team. As your child gets older we encourage them to come back alone once trust is gained and they have overcome any apprehension. For safety and due to space constraints, we request that any children not being treated remain in the waiting room with a supervising adult.
